The commander of the US Central Command, Lieutenant General Kenneth Mackenzie, during his meeting with Afghan leaders in Kabul on Saturday, the continued cooperation between the US military and Afghan security forces.

The head of the US Central Command met Afghan President Mohamed Ghani before the meeting with Prime Minister Abdullah Abdullah, who discussed with them the developments of the peace process and the fight against terrorism as well as the security file for the upcoming presidential elections.
"The United States will spare no effort in cooperating with Afghan forces in securing the upcoming elections," McKinsey said. The Afghan presidential statement said.
For his part, President Mohamed Ghani praised the "commitment of the United States to cooperate with the internal security forces and secure presidential elections," pointing out that Afghan soldiers are making efforts to secure the election.
He called on the Afghan government's executive director to meet with the US official, "Friends and international allies to focus on the treatment of sanctuaries and shelters for terrorists involved in the Afghan conflict."
The Afghan presidential elections are scheduled for September 28, after being postponed twice.
Eighteen Afghans, including incumbent President Ashraf Ghani, who is seeking a second term, and the government's chief executive, Abdullah Abdullah, are competing in the elections.
