Pepsi, a global company specializing in the sale of soft water, has decided it will take a new step in its plastic packaging.
The US network CNN said Pepsi will go to sell its Aquafina water in US fast food chains and restaurants, packed in aluminum packaging from next year.
The company is considering the possibility of circulating the move to all retail stores.
"Facing the problem of plastic waste is one of my top priorities, and I consider it a personal challenge," said Ramon Lagoreta, executive director of the company. "We are doing our part to address the problem by reducing our plastic packaging, recycling and creating alternatives."
"However, the company will not stop using the plastic completely, Aquavina bottled water will remain available at the moment," he said, adding that the company will continue to put soft drinks in bottles as well.
