Russian President Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that Putin had given instructions to the Russian army to combat water flooding in the Irkutsk region and help local authorities carry out rescue missions.
"The Russian president instructed Defense Minister Sergei Shweigo to involve the army in the flood control operation in the Russian Irkutsk region," Piskov told reporters.

According to the Ministry of Emergency, 42 temporary shelters were set up, 15 of which accommodated more than 1.3 thousand people and as a result of floods in the region, five people died.
