Russian naval forces follow the American destroyer "Carney" after entering the Black Sea

MOSCOW – Russian Black Sea forces are following the US destroyer Karni immediately after entering the Black Sea, the Russian National Defense Center said on Sunday.

"Black Sea Fleet forces began tracking the US destroyer immediately after entering the Black Sea," the statement said.

The statement added that the vessel of the Black Sea Fleet "Smitlevy" is the task, in addition to the electronic and technical means of the fleet.

According to the center, the destroyer "Carney" entered the Black Sea at 19.20 Moscow time on June 29.

"According to the provisions of the Montreux International Convention governing passage in the Turkish straits of warships, the time spent by the American destroyer in the Black Sea should not exceed 21 days."
