US President Donald Trump has said he will nominate Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe to the position of director of national intelligence to replace current director Dan Coates, who leaves office on August 15.
"I am pleased to announce that I will appoint John Ratcliffe, a highly respected congressman, as director of national intelligence, to replace the current director, Dan Coates, who will leave office on August 15," Trump wrote in a small blog on Twitter.
