
It is not unlikely that Turkey will develop S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems at the border with Syria and northern Cyprus.
This was announced by an official in the Turkish parliament.
"The most important thing is to secure the southern and eastern borders that are at their greatest risk," said Ahmed Pratt Chunkar, vice-president of the Turkish parliamentary group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), to the Russian newspaper Izvestia. He stressed that Turkey would put the missiles in suitable places to protect its borders.
The location of the S-400 systems has yet to be determined, the official in the Turkish parliament said, pointing out that the Turkish military is marking these places.
Turkey is expected to begin receiving S-400 systems from Russia in July.
