UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the bombing in the Hawari district of Benghazi that killed two UN staff.

Guterres said in a statement posted on the UN website:
The Secretary-General condemns in the strongest possible terms today's bombing in Benghazi. Two of our UN colleagues were killed in the bombing, and three others were injured.
Guterres called on the Libyan authorities "to spare no effort in pursuing the perpetrators, and to bring them to justice quickly," calling on all parties to respect the humanitarian truce during Eid al-Adha and to return to the negotiating table to seek a peaceful future deserved by the Libyan people.
In the same context, the Libyan parliament condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist bombing, which occurred on Saturday, in the Hawari area of Benghazi, which killed two employees of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, and a number of wounded.
The Libyan Council of Representatives called on the Ministry of Interior and all security services in Benghazi to intensify its efforts to reach the hands of terrorism and extremism, which is trying to tamper with the security of the city and its people and government institutions and missions.
The Council issued a statement saying:
Such terrorist acts reflect the extremist ideology of these terrorists, and let the world and international institutions know the ugliness of the terrorist extremist ideology we are fighting.
The Libyan parliament extended its sincere condolences to the staff of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and to the families and families of those who died in the terrorist bombing, asking God Almighty to grant the wounded a speedy recovery.
