Video and photos: Pilgrimage by bicycle from London to Mecca in 60 days

Breaking news-

Eight British cyclists on a pilgrimage traveled from London to Medina and then to Mecca to perform the rituals and raise money for charity during their journey.

The riders spent 60 days and drove 4,000 miles (6,440 kilometers) through 17 countries. According to "Reuters".

The riders raised funds for a fund aimed at building basic infrastructure projects such as schools, mosques and water wells in villages in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Uganda.

The campaign aims to raise 500,000 pounds (more than $ 606,000), but the riders only raised 50,000 until they arrived in Medina.

In a television interview with Saudi Arabia's Al-Arabiya TV, the pilgrim's team leader, Taher Hassan Akhtar, said the trip, despite its difficulty, remains one of the finest trips they have made, describing it as a "very beautiful spiritual journey."
