Bahrain's foreign minister and US national security adviser discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Khalifa and US National Security Adviser John Bolton discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them.

The official website of the Bahraini Foreign Ministry, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed, said that the meeting "demonstrates the priority and interest of these two countries, and reflects their keen efforts to promote joint cooperation in all fields to contribute to the interests of both countries and peoples."

The Bahraini minister noted "the great and continuous efforts exerted by the United States to establish security, stability and peace in the region and the world as a whole", stressing that the Kingdom of Bahrain will remain steadfast in supporting these efforts.

For his part, Bolton praised the strong ties of friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States and their keenness to activate bilateral cooperation frameworks at all levels. Bolton expressed his appreciation for Bahrain's hosting of the "Peace for Prosperity" workshop for economic peace between Palestinians and Israelis, saying it was "an important step that underscores the important role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in establishing security and stability in the region."

Bolton stressed that the United States "will continue its efforts to address the threat of Iran in the region with its policies of intervention in the internal affairs of the States of the region, support of terrorist groups and militias, and the spread of chaos and violence." "Meeting the threat of Iran is an important step and a key goal for sustainable peace and stability in the region and calls for concerted efforts by the international community," Bolton said.

The meeting comes as part of the Bahraini foreign minister's visit to the United States.
