Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called Wednesday for the United States not to sell weapons to what he called the "new Saddamists."
"Zarifshahr, Gaza and Yemen are a picture of the devastation that occurred in Khorramshahr, Gaza and Yemen with weapons and American support," the agency said.
According to Tasnim, Zarif pointed out that "Saddam, in the course of 8 years, bombarded our cities with missiles and bombs that were given to him by the West and the East, while no one sold Iran any means of defense … We had no choice but to make ourselves the means of defense and now complain about that".
The Iranian minister pointed out that "the United States should stop selling arms to the new Saddamists instead of addressing marginal issues."
