Iraq's parliament speaker, Mohamed Halboussi, has invited Kuwait for funds that have been allocated to Iraq for some time to start using them.
Halabousi and an Iraqi delegation to Kuwait's Amir Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah met on Sunday to discuss the investment of funds allocated to Iraq at the donor conference.
Halaboussi said the visit "comes to discuss projects for the reconstruction of Iraq, especially in the areas of health and education in all provinces."
In February 2018, Kuwait hosted a conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, in which Baghdad was awarded $ 30 billion, which constitutes about 34% of the country's actual needs.
According to a study by Iraqi and international experts last year, the Iraqi government estimated the actual need to rebuild the country at $ 88.2 billion over 10 years.
Fighting between Iraqi forces and Da'ash has destroyed infrastructure across Iraq.
