
Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu on Sunday discussed with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendis the cooperation between the two countries in various security and economic fields.

"The meeting discussed ways to push the East-Med gas pipeline project between Israel and Europe forward," the statement added.
Earlier in the day, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz discussed Sunday with his Greek counterpart Dondis the strengthening of bilateral and security relations between the two countries.
"I met with the new Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendis and talked to him about the regional threats to Greek and Cypriot security," the Israeli foreign minister said in a tweet at his Twitter account.

"The meeting discussed strengthening security relations and energy, economy and innovation between the two countries," he added.
For his part, the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on its official website on Twitter that "Minister Dundis was received from his Israeli counterpart Yisrael Katz at the Israeli Foreign Ministry. Minister Dundis also met with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin at the Israeli presidency."
The East-Med gas project includes the construction of a 1,300 km of sea pipeline from the Eastern Mediterranean gas field to southern Greece, as well as a 600 km long pipeline to western Greece, linking existing pipelines to transport gas to Italy and other countries.
