Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Ariasa said on Monday that his country plans to apply to the United Nations for violations of its airspace by the United States.
"As we have mentioned, the administration of US President Donald Trump recognizes its violations of Venezuelan airspace … there is no doubt in their bad intentions, we will go to the United Nations," Ariassa said in a small blog on his Twitter account.
According to Venezuelan authorities, the United States has violated Venezuelan airspace several times over the past two weeks.
It should be noted that this is not the first time American reconnaissance aircraft invaded Venezuela. On July 19 this year, observers uncovered a US reconnaissance plane that was in Venezuelan airspace. The plane did not respond to the attempts to contact, so the Venezuelan fighter "Su-30" was launched into the sky, which accompanied the "American fighter" out of Venezuelan territory.
In response, the United States accused Venezuela of "aggressively pursuing" its aircraft with a fighter of the Venezuelan Air Force.
The Venezuelan crisis has escalated since January 23, after the president of the country's National Assembly, Guido, declared himself president of the country, in contrast to last year's election, which was won by current President Nicolas Maduro.
