The Lebanese Ministry of Labor has taken a decision to combat illegal foreign labor in Lebanon in order to reduce unemployment, regulate the market and protect Lebanese labor from illegal competition in the country.
Palestinian refugees rose up in the camps in different areas of Lebanon, and the Palestinian opposition extended to include Lebanese areas in solidarity with the Palestinians during which the movements reached the center of the Lebanese capital Beirut.
The refugees were able to close roads leading to the camps in Sidon (Mieh and Mieh), northern Lebanon (Beddawi) and Tire (Rachidia) in protest against the decision of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor.
According to the ministry's new decree, it prohibits employers from employing non-Lebanese without obtaining a licensed work permit, as well as closing hundreds of institutions and sectors occupied by Palestinians in Lebanon.
The Palestinian moves and strikes in Lebanon have moved Lebanese and Palestinian officials. The Palestinian ambassador in Lebanon called on the Lebanese government to exclude Palestinians forcibly from the territories because they are forcibly removed from their land.
Lebanese Minister of Labor Kamil Abu Sulaiman told the Palestinian ambassador Ashraf Dabour that Palestinian refugees should be granted two months to six months to settle their situation and stop any action against them.
But this has not happened to the Palestinians, especially since these grants and licenses need a long time to be issued. This will be an obstacle for all. It creates anger among large segments of the Lebanese and Palestinian society that has been involved in economic and social life in Lebanon for decades.
The Palestinian protests continued until the third day in Lebanon, but in other ways, activists launched a campaign of stamping the Lebanese currency with the Palestinian flag in solidarity with the Palestinians against the decision of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor.
The social media "Facebook" has published videos showing the process of stamping the Lebanese and foreign currencies with the Palestinian flag, objecting to the Lebanese decision and solidarity with the worker and the Palestinian people.
