Russia will not sell modern weapons to foreign countries in the near future, including the missiles that Putin spoke about, Russian director Sergei Shemzov said yesterday.
"The president talked about modern weapons in Russia, of course we will never sell them to anyone," he said in an interview on Russia 1, "but at another time, it is unlikely in the near future."
"No, they did not, because they understand that we will not do that," he said, asking if foreign partners had applied for new Russian weapons.
During his letter to the Federal Assembly on March 1, 2018, the Russian President announced the development of the latest types of weapons capable of overcoming the supersonic missile defense and air defense system, such as the Kangal, Avangard air defense systems, "Purifistnik", the "Beresvet" laser system and the unmanned nuclear submarine Poseidon.
A large-scale military reform began in Russia in 2008, one of the most important elements of which was the rearming of the armed forces. In 2010, it decided to allocate 20 trillion rubles ($ 317 billion at the current rate) to 2020, with the aim of bringing the proportion of new technologies in the armed forces to 70 percent.
