The residents of Cambridge, north of the British capital, are currently in a state of terror after the announcement of the escape of a 2.7-meter-long human snake snake.
While chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats are the most prominent prey of the snake, this does not prevent them from opening their mouths enough to swallow a person, according to the British newspaper Telegraph.
The snake, seen near the Lovell road in Cambridge, was seen in the early hours of Sunday and the police could not catch it.
A Cambridge reptile expert, Steve Allen, noted that it is easier to catch a snake in winter than in the summer, because it is often out of its hiding place in search of places of warmth, such as motor vehicles.
A huge snake had swallowed an Indonesian woman last year, but Steve Allen confirmed that the Cambridge runaway snake did not pose a similar threat.
Network snakes are the tallest in the world, native to Southeast Asia, can grow up to 9 meters, and are not toxic, according to the British Encyclopedia.
