Turkey will consider buying Russian fighter jets if the United States refuses to supply F-35s, Bloomberg reported on Monday.
The Turkish authorities have previously stressed that they will not abandon plans to buy Russian anti-aircraft "S-400". The United States has threatened Turkey with sanctions if it buys such systems, including by delaying or refusing to sell modern F-35s.
"The S-400 deal between Turkey and Russia is very complicated, but it will be resolved," Trump said at a press conference on Saturday at the end of the G-20 summit.
US-Turkish relations have been strained by the S-400 missile deal Ankara has contracted with Moscow.
Ankara insists on its right to Russian missiles, while Washington opposes the deal and is trying to pressure the Turkish government to back down.
The Pentagon has suspended training of Turkish pilots on F-35 fighter jets at a US airbase in Arizona, and has given Ankara until July 31 to retract the purchase of the S-400 missile system from Russia.
Washington is looming to stop supplying its NATO ally with F-35 fighter jets, if it does not back down from the Russian missile deal, and says Russian missiles (S-400) can not integrate with Western defense systems.
Washington says Turkey's purchase of Russian missiles poses a serious threat to US fighter jets.
