Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called on citizens to complain to the United Nations against the US blockade.
Maduro wrote on his Twitter page, I welcome the Day of Global Protest against the American Empire and the severe blockade on Venezuela, and I call on the Venezuelans to sign a letter (to the United Nations) in defense of our independence, peace and sovereignty of our homeland. Act with dignity! ".

Venezuelans across the country are marching to protest US sanctions policy, and the head of state will join the demonstrations.
Check out this short video report by @BenjaminNorton on the protests in Venezuela against the illegal embargo being imposed by the Trump administration on Venezuela. You're unlikely to see this perspective in the msm. https://t.co/M0Sr3zfzfd

US President Donald Trump earlier signed a decree banning the assets of Venezuelan authorities in America, including the Central Bank of the country and state oil company "PDVSA". In addition, the decree allows penalties for foreign citizens who provide support, goods or services to anyone subject to sanctions, including Venezuelan authorities.
Maduro said Venezuela would send a letter to the United Nations signed by millions of citizens opposed to US sanctions.
Mass protests against legitimate President Nicolas Maduro began on January 21, shortly after he was sworn in. Then the opposition leader, Juan Gaido, illegally declared himself the interim head of state. A number of Western countries led by the United States have recognized it.
Maduro called Guaido with a US doll. Russia, China, Turkey and many other countries supported Maduro as the country's legitimate president.
