UAE breaks silence and issues statement on "Aden events" in Yemen

Breaking news-

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed its deep concern over the ongoing armed clashes in Aden, calling for calm and non-escalation and maintaining the security and safety of Yemeni citizens.

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of concentrating the efforts of all parties on the main front and confronting the Houthi coup militia and other terrorist groups, according to WAM.

He called for a responsible and serious dialogue in order to end the differences and work on unity in this delicate phase and maintain security and stability.

"The UAE, as an active partner in the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is exerting all efforts to calm and not escalate in Aden and in urging to mobilize efforts against the Houthi coup and its repercussions," he said. The UN envoy, Mr. Martin Griffiths, is exerting his efforts to press for an end to the great escalation in the city of Aden as the current fighting has negative repercussions on the UN efforts that strive to achieve security and stability through the political track, dialogue and negotiations.

Clashes in Aden continued for the fourth day in a row between security force forces and members of the presidential guard.

Yemeni military sources confirmed that the security belt forces were able to control the "Third Brigade Presidential Protection," as the Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council, Hani bin Brik, control of the headquarters of the Fourth Brigade Presidential Protection of the Yemeni army, in the interim capital Aden in southern Yemen.

In a statement, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the parties to the conflict to "engage in a comprehensive dialogue to resolve differences and to address the legitimate concerns of all Yemenis."

The Arab League, in a statement, also called on all parties to the conflict in Yemen to calm down, as tension continues in Aden, the country's temporary capital.
