US media predict the outcome of the US-Russia war at sea

Breaking news-

The hypothetical armed conflict between the United States and Russia in the Black Sea may be fatal to the US Navy.

This conclusion was reached by a writer in the American "National Interstate" magazine. The article says that Washington does not always adequately assess risks when conducting exercises near Russia's maritime border.

One of the dangers is that there are 18,000 mines left after World War II in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, which lies at the bottom and wait for the zero hour. If these mines explode and sink NATO ships, this could theoretically lead to conflict. At the same time, NATO forces (with the exception of Turkey) in the Black Sea will represent "little actual military significance, which will be destroyed in the early hours of the war," the magazine said.

The magazine notes that the United States is fortunate that the current Montreux Convention prohibits aircraft carriers from passing through the Turkish straits. If this happens, they will be quickly destroyed by a powerful group of Russian diesel submarines, coastal mobile missile forces and small and deadly missile boats. This does not take into account the capabilities of Russian aircraft equipped with supersonic anti-ship missiles, such as the new Kingal system.

In general, according to experts, including Americans, aircraft carriers that were previously used successfully against weak US adversaries are outdated and not valid for modern war conditions with great power. The circular says Iran or North Korea now have a chance to crack down on the aircraft carrier group. Moreover, China and Russia have such opportunities, which have been actively solving this problem for more than half a century.

The article refers to the argument of aircraft carrier defenders who claim that the strike of two missiles or torpedoes will not sink the aircraft carrier.

"Maybe not, but try to imagine the fleet you need to collect in order to rescue a stalled ship. Imagine this rescue operation that will make it easier for the enemy to hit the huge and weak target. Such a scenario could result in the loss of much of the navy."
