WASHINGTON (Reuters) – White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham suffered severe bruises after a row with North Korean officials broke out, US media reported.
The CNN network reported on what it described as an "chaotic scene" outside the meeting room between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Jim Jong-un in the demilitarized zone between the two Koreas.
The US network quoted a source at the scene as saying that Gresham was involved in a row with North Korean officials, while Korean security officials prevented US journalists from entering the summit hall, which resulted in severe bruises.
Politico magazine published a report on the circumstances of the quarrel, which caused the injury of a White House spokeswoman.
"The brawl began when North Korean secret police prevented US journalists from entering the meeting room," the magazine said.
"Go, go from here," she said, then pushed a North Korean official aside in an effort to open the way for the American journalists. Then he suddenly shouted, "Stop … stop this, , Then appeared in the background others chant "American fell."
There was no official statement from the White House or Gresham to comment on the facts, but CNN indicated that the spokeswoman for the White House did not appear later in the official photographs in which Trump left the buffer zone between the two Koreas.
The two leaders met on the border in the demilitarized zone between South and North Korea.

The US president crossed the South Korean border to North Korea to meet the North Korean leader, who welcomed the move and the two sides took a common picture on North Korean territory. The two then moved to the South Korean side for joint talks.
"The meeting between North Korea and South Korea is a historic day for all countries of the world," Trump told reporters.

Trump announced that he and Kim would exchange a state visit at the appropriate time, noting that he had invited Kim to visit the White House.
Melanie Trump, the First Lady of America, has announced that her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, will replace Sarah Sanders as White House spokeswoman.
