Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Choukri on Monday met with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita during his current visit to Cairo, carrying a message from King Mohammed VI to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said that during the discussions, the two ministers discussed the progress made in a number of areas of bilateral cooperation and the importance of intensifying work towards exploring new horizons for joint cooperation in various fields.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesman added that the discussions between the two ministers also touched upon the developments of all regional issues of common concern. The two ministers stressed in this regard the importance of strengthening mechanisms of solidarity and joint Arab action in facing the various challenges in the region and pushing for political solutions that will achieve security. Hafez concluded his remarks by saying that the meeting included an exchange of views on the most important developments on the African arena. For his part, Minister Bureita stressed his country's keenness to coordinate with Egypt in the light of its presidency of the African Union for the current year. The two ministers agreed to continue consultations on various regional and international issues during the coming period.
